Uplifting and investing in communities

As a global company and employer, we feel a deep sense of responsibility to make a positive impact on our communities worldwide. Every year, we allocate €2 million to philanthropic activities through our own charitable organization, the Septodont Foundation.

Jérôme DarribèreChief Ethics & Social Responsibility Officer

“ We carefully consider the social and economic challenges in the regions where Septodont operates. By collaborating with diverse local players, we actively promote a more compassionate and humane world, enhancing access to dental care and supporting local charities. ”

DENTAL CARE

Facilitating access to dental care

Because oral health and general health are inextricably linked, Septodont supports a number of initiatives that seek to make free oral care available to the world’s most underserved populations.

Social dental bus

Developed in partnership with various associations, solidarity buses are equipped with dental care trays and staffed by volunteer dentists. They travel to vulnerable communities in six European countries to provide free dental care.

Oral care facilities and training

In partnership with international health bodies like World Health Organization, we renovate dental care centers and provide oral disease prevention training in Madagascar, Laos, and other underserved populations.

International Medical Aid (IMA)

In partnership with International Medical Aid, Septodont's affiliated volunteer dentists have treated over 400 patients across Guatemala and Nicaragua.

COMMUNITY SOLIDARITY

Empowering local communities

Septodont strives to be an active force for positive growth in our communities. We forge long-term partnerships with a wide range of local organizations to support the co-development of community projects and the empowerment of vulnerable local populations.

Providing support during humanitarian disasters

In the midst of war or natural disaster, thousands of vulnerable people can find themselves cut off from vital medical and dental care. Septodont supports organizations on the front lines of these humanitarian crises with the resources they need to take rapid action.

Promoting social and economic integration

We believe that everyone has a fundamental right to inclusion, education and gainful employment. We support various initiatives that aim to remove social and economic barriers faced by vulnerable populations, such as disadvantaged children, underskilled adults, and refugees.

Caring for conflict victims

Since the start of the war in Ukraine, Handicap International has been assisting displaced people and providing urgent humanitarian aid to civilians living in the war zone. Septodont’s financial donations have facilitated vital support on the ground, including emergency prosthetic limbs for amputees, wheelchairs for the wounded, and psychosocial treatment for those experiencing trauma.

Supporting aid logistics

The Safe Association has been providing Medical Aid Ukraine with medical supplies, generators and other vital equipment since the start of the conflict. In addition to donating medical supplies, Septodont offered The Safe Association the use of our Croissy-Beaubourg warehouse when their logistics arrangements collapsed. As a result, they were once again able to safely receive goods and transport them to Ukraine, distributing aid to hospitals, healthcare centers, and orphanages.

Expanding oral care access

The Bus Social Dentaire (The Social Dental Bus) aims to improve oral health among vulnerable individuals via education, preventative oral hygiene, and better access to oral healthcare. Septodont has partnered with the organization to offer prevention and screening activities for disabled individuals in the Val-de-Marne area, bringing vital services to an underserved population. In addition, Septodont’s support has allowed the Bus Social Dentaire to expand their support to other vulnerable groups.

Improving Healthcare Safety

Healthcare-related infection remains a major issue in developing countries, with unsafe practices representing a great risk to local populations and healthcare workers alike. Septodont has partnered with Endodontic Aid International (AOI) to improve percutaneous procedures in Laos and Madagascar.

Today, the way in which Septodont provides support is an example in terms of CSR (corporate social responsibility), specifically as regards internal involvement and recognition, as well as in terms of its contribution to AOI. Septodont actively supports AOI in its development strategy, and this is demonstrating good outcomes over the long term.

Feeding displaced children

Throughout the Ukraine war, The Order of Malta has been on the ground providing medical and humanitarian aid to those affected. Additionally, they have funded aid projects across Europe, providing meals, psychological care, education, and other vital support to 240,000 displaced people. As part of this effort, Septodont has partnered with the organization to provide meals for 800 displaced children, supporting their health, wellbeing and education during this traumatic time.

Integrating Ukrainian refugees

Emmaüs Solidarité was founded in 1954 to fight poverty and protect the rights of homeless people. Today, they work with 6,000 people a day to provide assistance, advice, and access to emergency and long-term housing solutions. Septodont’s financial support has enabled Emmaüs to develop their Global Accompaniment for Successful Integration (ACT) in Val-de-Marne, providing Ukrainian refugees with French language skills and other support to integrate into employment.

Saving children’s smiles

Millions of American children are without access to oral healthcare, leaving them vulnerable to oral disease, pain, infection, and reduced psychosocial wellbeing. America’s Tooth Fairy aims to address this by providing underserved children with oral hygiene products, oral healthcare, and education. Since 2008, Septodont has worked with the organization to deliver preventative and restorative dental care to more than 2.9 million children so far.

Feeding students in need

Every week, Cop1 Solidarités Etudiantes provides food, hygiene products, clothing, employment advice and more to over 3,000 students in need. In Paris, Septodont funds the rental of a refrigerated van so that the association can safely distribute chilled produce to their service users. We have also connected Cop1 with another of our partners, the Bus Social Dentaire, to offer oral and dental care to several hundred of their service users.

Preserving our cultural heritage

President of Septodont’s management board, Henri Schiller, has always been a great lover of art, literature and history. Inspired by his enthusiasm for preserving our cultural heritage, Septodont supports some of the world’s most beloved institutions to continue their work.

Le Louvre Museum

Septodont is a proud patron of the world-famous Louvre Museum. Henri Schiller was instrumental in the development of la Chaire du Louvre, an annual lecture series bringing together renowned figures in art and literature. Septodont’s support has also helped the Louvre to acquire cultural treasures like King Francois I’s Book of Hours.

The French National Library

With Septodont’s support, the BNF has been able to purchase culturally important works of art and host lectures on topics of great literary significance. For 35 years, Septodont has also been supporting the compilation of a provenance file to better trace the origin of literary works. To date, the file features almost 300,000 records on works dating back several centuries.
